MULTIPLEX

At the Sony Multiplex Theater
the multitudes are herded into 12 large auditoriums
and it all works beautifully.
The line to buy tickets moves swiftly.
Sold-out shows are flashed on a sign.
One crowd pours out.
Another crowd files in.
At the refreshment stand,
we all move forward in orderly fashion
as truckloads of popcorn are swooped into scoops
and measured into containers
ranging in size from "jumbo" to
"are you really going to eat all that?"
The coke flows.
The candy goes.
The seats are comfortable.
There's enough room for your knees.
The sight lines are good.
There's never any garbage on the floor.
The sound is strong and clear
and it really does surround.
There are even almost enough women's bathrooms.
There is great talent at work here.
Would someone please tell me
who is responsible
so I can vote for that person for Mayor?
