DOGS DO

Dogs squat
in the most ridiculous position
when they do their business
at the curb.
Their hind quarters sink down.
Their front legs brace.
Their ears strain back flat.
They hunch down their heads
as if they're shamefully embarrassed
to be doing this in public.
Poor creatures —
maybe they are.
