DAYLIGHT SAVINGS

Tomorrow
morning will come a little early
as we spring into the season.
Some of us will be confused,
some of us will be late.
We will reset our clocks
and computers
and microwaves
and telephones
and VCR's
and answering machines.
I don't mind.
To me,
it's all about undoing damage,
returning to the rightful state of things.
Tonight
I go to bed with the reassurance
that indeed winter is only a phase,
and warmth will always follow.
I love this night.
I gladly forfeit the hour,
small sacrifice
to greater light.
