WHEELS

Everything has wheels
in Central Park on Saturday 85º.
Bicycles.
Rollerblades.
Skateboards.
The pretzel man and the soda man next to him.
A wheelchair, one with a motor, one without.
A supermarket cart
filled with baseball bats and balls.
A helicopter.
A shopping cart
filled with worldly possessions in paper bags.
Those big grey trash bins have wheels too.
So does the cart behind the horse.
Dogs don't.
Babies have lots of wheels.
On strollers.
Carriages.
A small baby cart
hitched to the back of mom's bicycle.
I think maybe even
the Metropolitan Museum has wheels
but they don't use them very often.
