BELLY

This guy is every guy you've ever seen
who's drunk a little too much beer,
eaten a few too many slices,
lived a few too many years since
he's been to the ballfield
or cared.
His orange tee-shirt stretches
over the balloon that begins just below the breast,
arching in front of him,
rounding the equator at the belt of his jeans,
curving back into hidden parts
that hopefully are in better shape than his belly.
He's a good guy.
A good looking guy.
Probably going home to watch TV
with a good loving woman
who doesn't notice his belly
or care.
