Ellen Azorin's writing career began in advertising, where she was a Creative Director at agencies including Ogilvy & Mather, McCann-Erickson, DMB&B, Tarlow Advertising, and Calet Hirsch (the former DKG).  Some of her noted campaigns were for Pond's skincare, L'Oreal hair products, Crest, Cuisinarts, Ralph Lauren fragrances and fashions, Martex, and Melitta coffee.  She was the recipient of numerous advertising awards, including the One Show, Art Directors Club, Andy and Clio, and was a finalist in the prestigious Kelly awards.

The concept for "prosetry" grew out of her advertising writing for beauty and fragrance products, where conceptual thinking had to be expressed with poetic feeling.

Today, "Prosetry:  the simple poetry of everyday life" has grown to two volumes published by Cantaloupe Press, and the poems cover thoughts and observations on everything from God to grandmothers, from flowers to fruit salad.

Ellen continues to write prosetry, while simultaneously devoting herself to her other passion – music – running her own music booking agency Cantaloupe Music.
